como: la contaminaci\u00f3n, la deforestaci\u00f3n, la erosi\u00f3n, la sedimentaci\u00f3n, el cambio clim\u00e1tico, las especies invasivas, los cambios en el uso del suelo, y el crecimiento poblacional urbano y rural. Estos factores est\u00e1n llevando al incremento de eventos extremos como las sequ\u00edas y las inundaciones, as\u00ed como la disminuci\u00f3n de la salud de los ecosistemas y la desaparici\u00f3n de especies acu\u00e1ticas. Como resultado, la capacidad de los ecosistemas para proveer servicios ecosist\u00e9micos est\u00e1 siendo afectada y pone en riesgo la seguridad h\u00eddrica y alimentaria, y aumenta el riesgo de desastres ambientales de la poblaci\u00f3n. <\/p>\n<p class=\"text-justify lead\" style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Es crucial la intervenci\u00f3n de profesionales que desarrollen soluciones innovadoras a los problemas y amenazas que enfrentan los recursos h\u00eddricos y acu\u00e1ticos a trav\u00e9s de la armonizaci\u00f3n de nuevas tecnolog\u00edas, el conocimiento ancestral y las soluciones basadas en la naturaleza. Ense\u00f1a el rol que tiene los bosques, r\u00edos, lagos y humedales en el ciclo del agua, en los ciclos biogeoqu\u00edmicos y en la distribuci\u00f3n de las especies. Igualmente, en esta disciplina se adquieren capacidades para el diagn\u00f3stico, evaluaci\u00f3n y monitoreo de los ecosistemas utilizando indicadores biol\u00f3gicos, fisicoqu\u00edmicos, toxicol\u00f3gicos, ecohidrol\u00f3gicos e y del h\u00e1bitat que sirven para determinar el estado de salud del ecosistema, la calidad del agua, caudales ecol\u00f3gicos, el estado de las poblaciones
